The other day, I was driving back to Van Buren and thanking the LORD for the good things going on at Heritage.   I am so glad I get to attend Heritage and be your lead pastor!   I am so thankful I go to a church to which I want to invite others to attend.   I know if their heart is open, they will be blessed.  I know there are ministries that can help meet their needs.  I thought about a few of the reasons I invite people to Heritage.  Maybe you can add your own:

1.  Our clear vision to become the church of God’s dreams and our mission to love God and people passionately and to lead them to Jesus!

2.  Our worship that is full of joy and reverence.

3.  Our prayer teams – trained, gifted and ready to minister as led by the Spirit at each service.

4.  Our multiple styles of worship.

5.  Our transparency, authenticity and lack of pretense.

6.  Our affirmation of the person, baptism, gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.

7.  Our commitment to discipleship of all ages through Tiny Tims, Timothy Team, Sunday School, Heritage U,  Life-groups, and other Bible Studies and training.

8.  We are a church of restoration that restores the fallen, broken, abused, bound and struggling souls.

9.  We raise up and send out missionaries.

10. We are committed to missional outreach in our area – food pantry, clothes closet, prayer booths at local fairs, GriefShare, DivorceCare, Cowboy Church, worship services and Bible studies in all local nursing homes and rehabs, and many acts of kindness and compassion through small groups.

11. Our partnership with Pathway to Freedom prison ministry and The CALL support of foster families.

12. Our many people who provide ministry to the local jail populations.

13. Our passion to unify the body of Christ in the area and bless the local community.

14. Our commitment to partner with the community and school system to support them and make our facilities and resources available.

15. Our commitment to desegregate the Church and to become a House of Prayer for All Nations!

16. Our commitment to the authority of the Word of God and to reclaim and celebrate the Jewish roots of our faith.

17. The joy and unity that we enjoy as a family of faith!

18. Our longevity (177 years) in this area!  Our values to love, lead, laugh, learn, last and leave a legacy!

19. Our great youth ministry and its committed team of adult leaders.

20. Our children’s ministry that is all about transforming children into spiritual champions by giving them Jesus!

21. Weekly messages to encourage, equip, challenge, reveal, and heal!

This is just a partial list!  This is why I love to invite people to Heritage.  I know you will welcome, receive, and love them with open arms.  Who will you invite to Heritage this week?  I hope to get to invite some of my new neighbors!
