Spring Forward

It is that time again, time to move our clocks forward and throw away a perfectly good hour.  It’s also a pretty good time to change the batteries in your smoke/CO2 detectors, flip your mattress, clean out your closet, et cetera, et cetera, etc.  Other than losing an hour of sleep, I love spring.  Well, there’s also that pollen thing but that’s another story.  Spring is a time of freshness; a time for new growth; a time for daffodils and dogwoods; a time for baseball, softball, track, and turkey hunting.  It is a time to come out of hibernation and spring to life.  It is time to be a new creation!

Apostle Paul wrote, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Too often, we stop there.  If we read the rest of Paul’s letter, we see why we are made new.  He reconciles us to himself so that we can take on the ministry of reconciliation.  The new life in nature serves a purpose.  Spring training serves a purpose; new batteries serve a purpose; some people even argue that daylight savings time serves a purpose.  What is your purpose this Spring?  It’s time to come out of hibernation and get to work!  Do you need a little help getting started?  Call me!
