Connecting Beyond Worship.....

Connecting Beyond Worship…….

Isn’t Heritage a wonderful place to come worship?  Some of us are very content just coming on Sunday morning and checking it off of our “spiritual” things to do list.  That seems to work well for a period of time but there will be an instance in our lives where we will find ourselves wanting more or needing more.  That is one reason it is so important to connect beyond worship.  We have had several small groups start up over the past couple of weeks.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a few.

  • Single Parenting Small Group – will meet on Sunday mornings in the Children’s Wing.  It is a ministry group whose materials come to us from the same people who brought us Divorce Care or Grief Share.  It will be facilitated by Roxanne Martin.  Roxanne has a passion for this ministry as she has walked that road of single parenthood and knows the struggles that it can bring.
  • Moving Through Motherhood – Are you a new mom?  A young mom? A mom who feels like she is going crazy if she doesn’t have an adult conversation soon?  This is the group for you.  Alia Lyle and Tricia German meet with this group on the first and third Thursday night here at Heritage.
  • Free At Last – A small group that is still in the forming stages.  Have you had loved ones incarcerated?  Do you have a heart for those who have? Or maybe you have been in prison.  This group will help you find your place, experience the full grace of God, and move forward. Group is led by Jake Ball.
  • Expressions – Luann Donahou leads this group on the first and third Thursday evening here at Heritage.  If you have a passion for writing, or expressing your feelings through poetry, you are sure to enjoy the like mindedness of this group.
  • Roland Small Group – This group is still in the forming stages.  It is opened to all ages and targeting those who live across the border in Oklahoma. Mark and Gretchen Turner are leading this group and would love to have you.  They meet on the first and third Sunday evenings.
  • Scriptural Prayer 101 – This class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 on the Adult Wing.  Kevin and Verna Belt have a passion to teach those who are just starting in their Christian walk to participate in conversations with God.  It starts with the basics and moves forward.  It is a class that gives you practical useful tools that you will use the rest of your life.

If you are interested in any of these groups, or you would like to be a part of one of our existing groups, please contact Bryan Tabakian or myself.  I beg you, if you have come to us on a Sunday morning and said I would like to be in a small group, or you have emailed us, and we haven’t gotten you connected.  PLEASE DO IT AGAIN!  One of us is getting older and more forgetful and the other has the attention span of a fly.  We need to be reminded.
