“See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.   1 John 3 New Living Translation (NLT)

At the end of this month I will be taking the youth(6th-12th) to Camp War Eagle in Rogers, Arkansas for Fall Retreat! We will not have much cell phone service and we will be surrounded by Gods great creation. My vision for this weekend is that it will be a time to recharge, and for the students to get away from all the craziness that surrounds them every day. I felt like the Lord was leading me towards Camp War Eagle so the students could unplug from social media, text messages, television, videos games… etc. With not having those things they will be able to focus on their relationship with the Lord, fellowship amongst each other, and build relationships with people that they would not normally get to be around. One of my biggest goals for our youth group is to be united as one. Fall retreat weekend will be a great opportunity for that because the students will not have the cell service to talk to anyone else except the people that will be amongst them. The theme for this weekend is going to be “Child of God!” My goal for this weekend is for the students to realize that they are loved by the Father, and that they are His children. I want the students to know that they must find their identity in Christ and not in things like popularity, sports, band, grades... etc. At the end of the day all of those things will let them down, and leave them feeling empty. I want them to be filled up with the power of His Holy Spirit and walk in that BOLDLY and with COURAGE finding their identity in Christ. And taking the Light into their schools where it is filled with darkness.

Please begin to pray for the hearts of these students that will be going.

P.S. Please remind your middle and/or high school student to register ASAP! They ‘re not going to want to miss out on what God has got planned for them that weekend.
