To Love & To Lead: Staff Discussions

Exciting Days Ahead!! Pastor Wes and the leaders of the church taking us through Re:LAUNCH—renewal or revaluation of our life in Christ. It’s always good to do a self-evaluation of where you are at personally; even better to do it together as a church. That’s what I love about this church family, there’s a desire to be all in when it comes to their commitment to God’s Kingdom. This past Sunday we heard our new Mission Statement: Glorify—Grow—Go. Pastor Wes broke our mission statement down with the big idea of “Making Jesus Real” and defining how to live it out in our daily life.

Dr. Luke tells us that the believers couldn’t be quite about what they had experienced on Pentecost when the Holy Spirit had come on them. “WE ALL HEAR THEM SPEAKING IN OUR OWN (native) TONGUES ABOUT THE MIGHTY WORKS OF GOD” Acts 2:11b(amp). Glorifying God is a natural occurrence when we are in the presence of God on a regular basis. Our daily devotions are where we are reminded, renewed, encouraged, and empowered to Glorify our God and Savior. Acts 4:13 (Amp) states: “Now when the men of the Sanhedrin (Jewish High Court) saw the confidence and boldness of Peter and John, and grasped the fact that they were uneducated and untrained (ordinary) men, they were astounded, and began to recognize that they had been with Jesus. When we spend time with Jesus people cannot help but see there is something different about us, which gives us an opportunity to GLORIFY God to those around us.”

My area of responsibility in the church is to help people to understand and identify what their ministry will look like in the Kingdom of God. GROW is our second step in our mission statement. Pastor Wes states our GROW GOAL is: FULL MATURITY in Christ. If you search the word maturity in your Bible app you will find multiple verses describing what maturity is and how to grow to be mature. Part of the process of maturity is realizing and understanding you have Spiritual gifts and talents for the purpose to edify (build up) the church body, which in turn GLORIFY’S Jesus. One of Satan’s lies to believers is that you don’t have anything to offer in God’s Kingdom. Don’t believe the lie!! Our SHAPES class is designed to help discover and understand the Spirit Gifts and talents God has given YOU to help build up the church and Glorify our God!!

Come join us on Sunday, February 3rd during the second service to discover just what your SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND TALENTS ARE!! Let’s GROW together for the purpose of GOING and being like Jesus!!

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”   Ephesians 2:10
